Conclusion

Living in Maine, we know that driving can be really hazardous at certain times of year. A bad winter storm can ruin visibility, making it difficult to see. In the summer, tourists can also pose a danger, weaving in and out of traffic in an effort to find the right road or get to the beach just a little bit faster. Then there are the occasional confusing traffic signs that point you in the wrong direction, are outdated, or are just plain wrong. And who could forget the bumpy roads and dead ends that drivers must deal with? Good driving takes a lot of practice and concentration.

Using the Internet takes practice and concentration too. When looking for information online, it's very easy to make wrong turns or end up on dead-end roads. The Internet also has not just bad drivers, but bad road designers. Those road designers don't always know what they're doing. Sometimes they make mistakes. Other times they purposely try to confuse people or just plain make things up. It can be hard to know if you're on the right road -- or figure out where the road is going.

In this WebQuest, you will look at a number of different websites. Some of them will be great sources of information that you'll want to bookmark for future use. Some of them will be just "so-so." Others will be junk. This WebQuest will show you how to separate the "straight and narrow" roads with the potholes on the Information Superhighway.
