How to...
Do a screen capture
(Take a picture of
what's on the screen)
It's really easy! You can use this method to take a picture of anything on the screen, no matter what's happening.
When would you do this? Maybe there's a picture of something on the screen you can't get by saving the regular way. Maybe you're in a program that has a picture you need for a project. This method is great if you only want PART of a bigger picture, too!
1. Press Shift-Apple-4. Your cursor
will turn into crosshairs.
2. Use the crosshairs to draw a rectangle around the exact area
you want to copy.
3. Open the hard drive of the computer. Look for files called
"Picture 1, "Picture 2," etc. Your picture will
be the last one (the one with the highest number).
4. Open the picture and use the crosshairs to select what you
want to use, and then copy and paste it into the document you're
working on. OR, just drag the file into the document.
