LITURGICAL MINISTRIES AT ST. JOSPH PARISH

Altar Servers...
...assist the priest at weekend Masses, funerals, weddings and other special occasion liturgies. Any girl or boy who has celebrated Fist Communion may become a server. New servers are recruited and trained each year.
Choir...
...sings at the 10:00 A.M. Mass on Sundays, September - June. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings. We are always in need of additional voices, both male and female. Ability to read music is not required.
Folk Group...
...sings at the 5:00 P.M. Mass on Sundays. Additional voices and instrument are always welcome.
Special Ministers of the Eucharist...
...distribute Holy Communion at the weekend Masses and bring the Eucharist to those who are unable to attend Mass. Candidates for this ministry are nominated by a parish committee and must be approved by the Bishop. Each minister is assigned to two or three Masses a month. Anyone who has been confirmed may be an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist.
Lectors...
...proclaim the scriptures at weekend masses. They usually read at one Mass each month. Anyone of high school age or older is welcome in this ministry.
Greeters...
...welcome people as they enter the church on Sundays and at special occasions during the year. They assist in creating a warm environment conducive to community worship.
Ushers...
...select gift-bearers at our weekend Masses, take up the collection, distribute Parish Bulletins and assist with seating and other needs of the assembly. Any one of high school age or older is welcome in this ministry.
